Join Kim Tanzer for Mindfulness 101, an interactive workshop for beginners on learning Mindfulness. Kim will guide you through a selection of mindfulness practices and answer questions you might have about the practice. As well as providing tools that you can apply to your everyday lives in the hope of helping you decrease stress and anxiety and, with practice, increase your sense of calm and build resilience.

Due to COVID-19 these regularly offered workshops will take place virtually over zoom. In-person workshops will resume at a later date.

What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Mindfulness is a practice on learning how to be present, or ‘in the moment’, which allows us to recognize and enjoy the positive in our lives and manage the difficulties with more resilience.

Mindfulness is a way of living life more fully. With practice, mindfulness can help us rewire our brain (neuroplasticity) towards more positive thoughts and emotions. When negative thoughts and difficult circumstances arise, as they inevitably do, we are better equipped to handle what is thrown our way. Moreover, when we are faced with difficult issues we are better equipped to respond rather than react.

About Kim Tanzer, MSW RSW

Kim Tanzer, Registered Social Worker has been in private practice for over 10 years, with a special interest in Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation. Along with counselling she also has a strong background in facilitating and developing wellness programs. Through out her career she has studied Mindfulness Meditation extensively and regularly offers workshops in Toronto. Kim was the co-founder and co-facilitator of Mind Body Connection a workshop on mindfulness techniques and discussion on women dealing with anxiety at Jewish Family and Child Services.
