Therapy Team

Our team of Psychotherapists consists of both Registered Social Workers, and Registered Psychotherapists. Each Therapist works from a foundation of providing “talk therapy”. Each present with additional post-graduate training providing their own unique and expert approach to care.

We’ve seen an increased demand for therapy especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic. It affects everyone in one manner or another, either indirectly or directly. It’s normal to experience different emotions in response to added stress. Tensions elevate as we attempt to navigate life’s “new normals”. Our team of Psychotherapists are here to help you overcome your obstacles during this unique time.

Providing Therapy during COVID-19

Under the guidance of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario,
appointments are provided by a Virtual means during COVID-19, either via Virtual Telehealth and/or by phone . In-person appointments are available on a case-by-case basis and up to the discretion of the individual Therapist.

Our team of Psychotherapists have experience in helping individuals, couples, families, children, and youth. Please view individual bios for more details. Limited number of spots are reserved for discounted rates/ sliding scale for those in need.

Shannon Burton, MSW RSW

Shannon is a Registered Paediatric Social Worker. Her years of experience working within the school board and hospital settings has given exposure to a wide spectrum of youth and child related mental health concerns. Shannon provides support for children, as well as parents. This mother of two has been described as passionate, genuine and energetic. Kim Tanzer, MSW RSW

Kim is a Registered Social Worker, who deeply believes that life is messy. Our journeys are not linear and often move in many different directions. To be human is to learn to surf all of what life brings – joy, love, pain, sadness, surprises, and wonder. Kim is also a mindfulness meditation teacher and a yoga instructor. She understands how the mind and body influence each other. Kim is deeply passionate about helping people in whichever direction they are presently looking for. Andrea Skitch

Andrea Skitch, MSW RSW

Andrea is a Registered Social Worker, and is committed to the art and science of Psychotherapy from a Social Work lens. This means that Andrea uses proven methods of therapy, in conjunction with her personal skill set and creativity, to help people through tough times. She considers a person’s social context which lends a deeper understanding of the issues people face and how to help them move forward. Andrea has additional training in EMDR. Emma Turner, M.Sc, RP

Emma is a Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist. She works with individuals, couples, and families. She has extensive experience working in the children and youth mental health field. Emma works from the assumption that people have their own skills and knowledge and that they are the experts in their own lives.
