BIO: Sarah has been in practice since 2005.  The foundation of Sarah’s practice has been in Therapeutic Massage, Sports Massage, Pregnancy Massage, TMJ Dysfunction and CranioSacral Therapy. Sarah sees both men and women in practice as well as children and infants. Sarah first opened Ohana Wellness Clinic in 2015 with a vision of creating a collaborative team supporting the unique needs of individuals and families.

VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS
-beneficial for those requiring advice and recommendations for pain-related complaints and not comfortable for in-person treatments. Sessions include symptom review, detailed intake, active ROM assessment, and education on injury-specific recommendations on self-care, remedial exercise, and hydrotherapy.

Kristyn Kowalewski, RMT

BIO: Kristyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. Following a car accident, and experiencing firsthand the amazing benefits of massage therapy, Kristyn turned her career focus to massage. She graduated from Sutherland-Chan in 2012 and has been practicing massage therapy ever since. Her treatments are effective yet relaxing while she incorporates various techniques such as Swedish, NISA, and craniosacral therapy. Kristyn creates her treatment plans based on the individual needs and goals of her client and believes that it’s important for everyone to play an active role in their personal roads to wellness. Kristyn offers appointments at Ohana Wellness Clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

BIO:  Since a young age, Jen has grown and benefited from her experiences in the field of massage therapy. Initially, Jen had a career in Latin dance which later led to her opening her own Latin dance school, in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Jen often sought relief with therapeutic massage from her own dance-related injuries. This first-hand experience in massage as rehabilitation is what inspired Jen to become a massage therapist. Jen’s treatments are guided by her desire to get you back on the dance floor, in the gym, or whatever it is that inspires you!  Jen has taken numerous post-graduate courses including TMJ Dysfunction, Pelvic Health, Myofascial Release, and  Prenatal Massage with Trimesters: Massage Therapy Education.

BIO: Yvonne graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2015. Before studying to become a massage therapist she graduated from the George Brown dance program in 2007. She loves working as a massage therapist because it allows her to combine the love of science with the art of health care in a personalized environment. Her focus is pregnancy support as well as myofascial release. Please note that Yvonne is relocating to Sudbury, October 2020.

BIO: Kristin’s enthusiasm for the power of the human body has been reinvigorated through watching her young son discover the possibilities of movement. She is constantly inspired by what the body is capable of and believes in the power of massage as preventative medicine. Working with an intuitive touch Kristin uses a combination of massage techniques including deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, cupping and aromatherapy. She has experience treating headaches, tendinitis, sciatic pain, carpal tunnel and postural discomforts as well as pre/postnatal massage, and TMJ dysfunction. Kristin offers appointments at Ohana on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

BIO: Marilyn graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and has been in practice for nearly a decade. She has done further education in hot stone massage, perinatal and postnatal massage, as well as pediatric treatment. Marilyn’s background in dance and gymnastics, and as her university education in dance have helped deepen her understanding of movement and of the mechanisms of injury as well as given her a lifelong love of being active and helping others do the same. Marilyn is committed to providing a unique and tailored treatment to her clients based on their injuries, goals and lifestyle and helping them get back to doing what they love. BIO:  Taka has been practising manual therapy since 2005. His unique style of practice focuses on the myofascial system with an integrated approach to treat the body as a whole. He has taken a number of post-graduate courses including Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, CranioSacral Therapy, Stecco Fascial Manipulation, and more. He often sees patients with complex injuries and is particularly interested in Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction. His treatments are performed fully clothed without the use of oil. Since the onset of her practice she has focused her expertise on Men and Women’s reproductive health, fertility and pregnancy support. She is committed to working in partnership with her patients to achieve optimal health and well-being. Oksana graduated from the four-year Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Eight Branches Academy of Eastern Medicine and is trained to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions.  She has also studied extensively in Natural Dermatology. Oksana has a keen focus on treating both acute and chronic injuries including back pain, sciatica, and disc herniation. As well as skin conditions, pregnancy complaints, labour prep, and postpartum.

BIO: Pablo is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) Candidate. He earned his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and has received certified training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy at the SickKids Community Mental Health Learning Institute. He draws from multiple frameworks – Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Informed and Solution-Focused Therapy – and tailors them to your needs. His approach is genuine, empathic, strengths-based, client-centred and culturally sensitive, while establishing a nonjudgmental and safe space. Pablo has had experience in many different areas, one of which in particular was working with Men’s mental health.
