Pregnancy is an exciting journey! Prenatal chiropractic care helps ensure your journey is as comfortable as possible. A women’s body endures many changes through out each trimester. Prenatal Chiropractic is a safe and effective method of relieving pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy. Common complaints for treatment include back and hip pain, headaches, swelling, and stiffness. Our Chiropractor, Dr. Natalie Leib, a mother of two, has always enjoyed working with pregnant women. This lead her to continuing her education with a number of prenatal post-graduate courses, including certification in Webster Technique and Birth Fit.

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a specific and gentle chiropractic assessment and treatment protocol used in pregnancy. Webster Technique works to facilitate pelvic balance and decrease the stress and strain on the muscles and ligaments attached to the uterus. By correcting the misalignments and reducing tension of the shortened ligaments, it can allow the baby to position itself in the most optimal position for birth.

A comprehensive history and physical exam is performed. Included is an assessment of the muscles, joints and ligaments as well as the Webster Technique analysis. Based on assessment findings, a specific treatment plan is discussed to tailor to your specific needs. Webster Technique adjustments are gentle and can be performed at any stage of pregnancy along with soft tissue release for the muscles and ligaments surrounding the pelvis.

Birth Fit

Birth Fit is an approach to help women through the pregnancy journey, the transition to postpartum, and the postpartum stage.

Through pregnancy and post partum, core dysfunction can present itself as pelvic floor dysfunction. This can including incontinence, diastasis recti, back pain, chest breathing and poor posture. Birth Fit professionals are trained to address these issues and guide women through pre and post natal rehab. Works to prepare the body for the demands of pregnancy and to help restore the body post partum. Functional progression exercises help teach you how to recruit the deep core muscles which include the diaphragm, pelvic floor, obliques, rectus and transverse abdominus, and the spinal erector muscles.
