Takayoshi Munemoto, RMTTAKAYOSHI MUNEMOTO, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist

Taka has been practising manual therapy since 2005. His treatments utilize a variety of modalities, including Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation and Lymphatic Drainage.  Many of his patients see him for complex TMJ Dysfunction complaints.

Taka utilizes the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) understanding how our body works in an integrated and holistic way. Holistic means interconnected line of related structures. In TCM, these lines are called meridian channels, which run through the entire body. Taka’s whole-body approach to treatment is unique and gentle in nature, but also promotes self-healing of the injured tissues.

Taka has completed certification for Lymphatic Drainage by Dr. Vodder School International.  This type of treatment addresses lymphatic obstruction or congestion. Dr. Vodder School is one of the world leaders for the research and treatment of lymph blockage (lymph edema), and the developer of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques.  Improved lymph promotes tissue/skin health, organ health, as well as strengthening the immune response.

Taka studied Feldenkrais Method, a dynamic approach for treatment of sensory, motor deficiency, coordination and balance issues. Feldenkrais Method uses the fine coordinated movements to ease tight muscles, joint stiffness, pain reduction and improves range of motion. Feldenkrais helps to strengthen our kinetic sense, a great way to prevent injuries and learn how to move our body in more efficient way.

The above combined modalities enhance Taka’s integrated approach to treatment. Taka is currently studying osteopathy manual skills at Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and an instructor at Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy.
